In 2019, Katja and Samo Gorenšek, MD, PhD, organized an aesthetics congress in Portorož, where they imparted their knowledge to other physicians and where they invited their friends, doctors of aesthetic medicine, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons from England, France, India, Morocco, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, etc... The speakers were prominent physicians who have large aesthetic clinics abroad and whose regular work is to educate physicians about modern aesthetics. MY JOURNEY
My career in medicine began at an early age. I was always fascinated by my father's stories about different diseases, people, their stories, and accidents in the hospital. His enthusiasm was infectious, but most of all I was impressed by his care and responsibility for people. My father, Dr. Milan Gorenšek, was a gastroenterologist, initially at the UKC in Ljubljana, then he founded the first private clinic, the Bled Diagnostic Center, which he ran for many years. Unfortunately, illness took him from us many years ago, but his heart still guides me.
I started running a clinic a few years ago, when I became director of the Ljubljana branch of the Bled Diagnostic Center, which we then moved to a new location in Villa Urbana, in the center of Ljubljana, expanding it considerably. The job inspired me, but it did not satisfy me....
I wanted to work as a dermatologist; it has always been a passion of mine. After completing my residency, I worked as a specialist dermatovenerologist at the Rogaška Slatina Medical Center.
After a few years, given my experience in running a private medical center, I decided to continue my career in my clinic together with my wife, Dr. Katja Gorenšek.
We started with dermatology, we liked aesthetics....
So we have devoted years to training in aesthetic medicine. Especially non-surgical therapies such as botox and dermal fillers, laser therapies and other forms of facial therapies.
My motto has always been: if you want to do something, you really have to master it. Because I wanted everyone to be able to look like the “best version of themselves.”
My trainings are many, but the most important ones are listed below. During this time I asked myself many questions about beauty, facial harmony, studied texts and images, thought about our procedures and how to give my clients the best result. How can I identify what each individual desires? How do I set up therapies on an individual basis? I have been trained all over Europe, in America and also by colleagues in Asia. I have met many practitioners, I respect them very much, we have learned many things, and with some of them we have remained good friends. Especially those with whom we share a vision of individual beauty, which we have discussed a lot, and with whom we share a surgical technique that aims to make each individual patient look like the best version of himself. What does that mean? Preserving each person's individual features but accentuating their attributes, bringing imperfections closer to more ideal proportions, and thus holistically improving facial appearance. So that friends ask them, “How is it possible that you are so beautiful?”
The holistic approach is what counts....
I have enough training to know many nonsurgical procedures and can advise my clients individually on what is appropriate for them and how to achieve the best result with all the therapies I perform. In our holistic approach, we combine procedures so that we do not overdo any one procedure, but rather use different therapies to work on all the layers of the face affected by aging.

He divulges his knowledge at all relevant events and cutting-edge programs, convinced that only in this way can he offer you solutions that make a difference. He participates in numerous conferences and congresses, such as the World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine in Munich, the congresses of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and the Academy of Dermatology.
Samo Gorenšek, MD, Aesthetic Dermatologist, is also a teacher of dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid for other physicians and lectures on dermal fillers at all major congresses in the region. Under his leadership we have already hosted workshops for physicians, he has lectured at congresses in Opatija, Ljubljana (SEEFAS), Zagreb and TAMC in Dubrovnik. He was also invited to New York to participate in a Masterclass on hyaluronic acid dermal fillers with the most famous aesthetic physician, pioneer of the natural method of hyaluronic acid rejuvenation and facial beautification, Dr. Arthur Swift.
Trained at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, he perfected his training in laser therapy at prestigious laser centers in Madrid and Budapest, as well as training in Lisbon. World-renowned physicians also visit the SKIN Centre in Ljubljana. A few years ago he also completed the prestigious Master Class on the application of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.
