would you like to get rid of the tiny wrinkles between the eyebrows and around the eyes? would you like to feel younger?
Reducing wrinkles with Botox
By applying Botox, selective relaxation of the muscles that contribute most to the formation of wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes is achieved, so tiny wrinkles are removed.
Botox has been used for more than 25 years on several million satisfied customers. You shouldn’t be put off by a few individuals who received exaggerated doses of Botox and ended up with an exaggerated appearance. With the great majority of patients people around them don’t even notice that they have been using Botox. The patients themselves are satisfied as the fine lines have disappeared or tiny wrinkles have been reduced.
In order to be satisfied with any aesthetic procedure you should first have a comprehensive interview with your dermatologist who specialises in the field. The dermatologist will be able to give you personalised advice about individual therapies that are most suitable for you.
When should i see a dermatologist for the first time?
Fine lines begin to appear in women aged from about 25 to 30 between the eyebrows and around the eyes where Botox is most frequently used. This is the optimal time for the first therapy with Botox as fine lines will completely disappear. With regular application of Botox, you can be wrinkle-free long into old age.
What is Botox?
Botox is a substance which prevents the neural signals from reaching the muscles, so it causes a reduction in muscle contraction, allowing the muscles that cause wrinkles to relax. As a result, fine lines and facial wrinkles become less visible. Botox is injected into the hypodermis or the muscle with a tiny syringe.
is not only a teenage problem
Acne is a disease that is quite common in adolescence, but it also often occurs in adults. Besides the negative effect that it may have on the self-image, acne can also leave scars, which remain in adulthood. Since treatment options to remove acne scars are often quite exacting, it is recommended to see a dermatologist who will select a suitable treatment that will lead to healthy skin.
Acne is treated with special prescription creams or tablets. Many people worry about the side effects of these medications, so they might prefer to have their acne removed by laser treatment or with an appropriate peeling treatment, in which case side effects are quite rare.
Your first appointment with the dermatologist will be an interview, so that the doctor can then, depending on your skin, advise you on the best suitable and personalised therapy, including the cosmetic products you should use or how to remove any scars that you already have.
laser treatment
The laser is a new method in acne treatment, which works in two modes. The first one heats the oil glands in the skin to make the gland contract and begin to produce smaller quantities of sebum. The other method acts on the acne, which occurs due to the excessive growth of particular bacteria that are caught in the hair follicles without oxygen, which in turn, causes inflammation. The laser opens the pores as much as to provide them with sufficient oxygen, thus exterminating the bacteria and stopping the inflammation.
The majority of patients do not perceive the laser removal of acne as being painful. The treatment may only cause minor discomfort. After the therapy only a mild redness may be visible, which disappears from after a few hours up to a few days. The effects are usually visible after the second or third therapy. The removal of acne using a laser at the SKIN Centre is safe and effective. After the therapy you should avoid the sun or you can use a suitable sunscreen with a protective factor (SPF 30+).
peelings
Surface peeling is an effective method for improving the overall appearance of your skin . After the peeling, the complexion is glowing and fresh, and the acne will dissipate. For surface peeling we usually use natural alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) in various concentrations, which are gradually increased in concentration.
Skin peeling treatment normally results in a slight burning sensation in the area where the peeling was performed and the skin is a little redder, but it regenerates within a few days. For the best result, treatment should be repeated several times.
cosmetics
A highly effective method for treating mild acne is applying suitable cosmetic products recommended by your dermatologist to suit your skin. These medical cosmetic products contain special substances which encourage exfoliation of dead skin cells that clog up pores, but still manage to hydrate your skin and improve the overall appearance of acneic skin. It is especially important that you use appropriate soap which rinses away all the traces of pollutants, sweat and other substances that accumulate on your face during the day as the face is greatly exposed to external environmental factors.
The rejuvenation potentials REQUIRE only A LITTLE encourageMENT
Become familiar with this advanced method of rejuvenation and regeneration of the skin on the face, neck, cleavage, and body. Your skin will be firmer, more elastic and smoother once again by stimulating its natural properties. The tiny wrinkles and scars will be smoothed, your skin tone and texture will be improved and strech marks will be less visible.
eMatrix smartly employs radio-frequency technology in a fractional way by directing energy generated from strong heat at the hypodermis or dermis and overheataing it. The body actively reacts to the thermal damage, similarly to a wound-healing process; it boosts collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production of the skin. While healing, the skin becomes smoother, fine lines and medium-size wrinkles reduce, and uneven pigmentation, which is another sign of aging, improves. The results are longer-lasting and recovery is quicker than with laser rejuvenation since the epidermis is only slightly damaged. Only a mild redness remains immediately after the therapy, but after that the thin brown spots will disappear within a few days. The method is safe, highly effective and suitable for all skin types and can be performed anywhere on the face, cleavage, neck, and body.
effects
- rejuvenation of the face, cleavage, and neck;
- skin tone revival;
- smoothing of fine lines and moderate wrinkles;
- shrinking of the pores;
- smoothing of acne and other scars;
- reducing stretch marks;
- softer, smoother and more elastic skin, and plump and glowing complexion.
results
Immediately after the treatment: improved skin tone and better skin texture.
After three months: the production of collagen and new healthy skin cells increases due to the effects on the dermis, the fine lines and moderate wrinkles become smoother, irregular pigmentation of the skin reduces, the skin is regenerated and rejuvenated; its appearance is still better a year after the therapy.
After a year or more: in some people the effects are visible for several years since elastin and collagen keep producing.
pain
You will experience a warm and tingling sensation during the treatment. Prior to the treatment we can apply an anesthetic cream and during the therapy, we can cool the area with cold air.
number of visits
3 treatments over 4 to 6 weeks. One treatment takes less than an hour.
return to EVERYDAY activities
The next day after the procedure. Redness is visible for 3 to 4 days.
care
After the therapy the skin is pink and slightly swollen, as if it was sunburnt, but this disappears in a couple of days. Tiny brown spots appear the day after the procedure in the area where it was performed, but these spots will disappear within a week. You shouldn’t use cosmetic products within 24 hours after the procedure, but afterwards you can apply powder foundation to cover the redness and the brown spots. During the first 14 days after the procedure you should use protective cream with SPF 50 and a recommended nourishing cream. We also recommend using a mild facial cleanser to cleanse your skin.
complete rejuvenation
In order to achieve even more visible results, botulin toxin and dermal fillers can be applied, and mezzo-therapy and chemical peelings can be performed after eMatrix.
The SKIN dermatology centre offers advanced treatments that result in a younger appearance. We always take the time to discuss your wishes and expectations, so that we can set the goal together. You are kindly invited to make an appointment for an expert consultation.
Don’t wait for them to multiply. Have them removed as soon as you notice them.
Warts are caused by a viral infection (human papillomaviruses). They are most common in school children and their general incidence in the population is around 10 per cent. They spread by contact and this is why they are usually present in several family members. Most often, they develop on the hands and the soles of the feet, as well as on the face and genitals (genital warts).
Usually a single wart occurs first to be followed by new ones in its vicinity or on other parts of the body. When you notice them we recommend you that you see a dermatologist as soon as possible, so that the doctor makes sure that the growth is in fact a wart and not some other type of skin growth. Getting rid of warts is the easiest, quickest and most successful if it is performed at an early stage.
At the SKIN dermatological clinic, we use cryotherapy, which is treatment with liquid nitrogen, to freeze the wart. About a day later, a blister will form where liquid nitrogen was applied, but it will heal in approximately two weeks. The procedure is slightly painful and generally several treatmentns with a three-week interval are needed. Warts on the soles of the feet are the often most persistent and pain might be felt when walking for a few days after the treatment. In addition to cryotherapy, we also use lasers to remove warts.
PRICE LIST:
- Cryotherapy for up to 3 warts – EUR 40
- Cryotherapy for up to 10 warts – EUR 60
- Cryotherapy for up to 20 warts – EUR 80

The most efficient method to achieve smoothness.
The laser uses highly concentrated energy to reach the hair follicle, which it destroys through the release of energy. Laser energy is attracted by the pigment in the hair just as sun beams are attracted to dark clothes, which is why the laser works best on strong and dark hair on a pale complexion. But, laser treatment is also successful on people who do not have all the right predispositions. As we always adjust the laser hair removal process to each individual, we are offering you a FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION, which is needed to achieve the best possible results.
After the laser treatment, the hairs will fall out within a period of one to three weeks. You will also notice fewer hairs coming out already after the first therapy. Then, after each treatment, there will be even fewer hairs.
Who do I trust?
Laser hair removal is offered by various beauty salons, however, most do not use a laser but rather equipment which is much less effective. Laser hair removal is an intervention into your body, so complications are not wanted, which is why you should have your treatment performed at a dermatological clinic that uses lasers of the highest quality handled by medical professionals.
The most effective PATH to smooth skin
There are many ways to remove body hair such as shaving, waxing, electrolysis or chemical hair-removal. But, laser removal is growing in popularity because it is highly effective and safe when used by experienced medical personnel.
How the laser removes hair?
LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) emits light with a single wavelength, producing a focused monochromatic beam. When used for hair removal, the laser acts on the melanin (skin pigment) in the hair follicle. Its action is particularly important in relation to the part of the hair follicle containing stem cells because when they are destroyed, the hair cannot regrow. In the early active growth phase, hair is most susceptible to the laser because it contains large amounts of pigment on which the beam acts. But not all hair is in the same growth phase at once because it grows in cycles. The aim of laser therapy is to stop this growth cycle for the long-term.
The course of laser treatment
The laser only acts on the actively growing hair, i.e. which is in the anagenous phase. That is why several therapies are needed to remove hair permanently and it cannot be done in just one visit. Three to eight visits with a four- to eight-week interval usually suffices to obtain permanently smooth skin. The exact number of visits and their frequency will depend on the location of the hair growth. The procedure is quick and usually painless. Most of those who have tried it consider it much less painful than waxing or plucking. During the procedure, you might feel a burning sensation at the site of the laser action. The pain is much less intense if the instrument uses an appropriate and high-tech cooling system, which is one of the most important features of an excellent laser.
In order to achieve the desired results with a minimum number of treatments, an individualised plan is made for you at the SKIN centre, including the expected number of visits and the required intervals. A laser that best suits you is selected according to your skin type and complexion. Thanks to the latest research, now anyone can have their hair removed including those with the fairest and darkest complexion. In order to achieve this, advanced lasers with variable wavelengths are necessary. These are lasers from recognised brands ensuring two essential things: a high level of safety and high efficiency. The Alexandrite laser (with a wavelength of 755 nm) and the Nd:YAG laser (with a wavelength of 1064 nm; particularly effective for darker skin) are most commonly used for this purpose. Some beauty centres use IPL instruments, but these are not lasers, so they cannot perform laser hair removal.
TRUST Only the best
Before making a decision to have your body hair removed with a laser, you should obtain information about the equipment used for the treatment as well as who will be using it. Unfortunately, there are many low-quality lasers produced by unrecognised manufacturers present on the Slovenian market whose quality and safety are questionable. Adverse effects may develop after treatment with any equipment, but they are significantly less common with approved and certified equipment manufactured by companies that invest a lot in the research and therefore have state-of-the-art safety and cooling systems in place.
In addition to high quality equipment, it is very important that your treatment is performed by qualified medical professionals. As easy and non-risky as it may sound, laser treatment is a procedure on the body. Medical professionals will know how to select the best treatment parameters to ensure high efficacy of the treatment, and will also be able to recognise any adverse effects, knowing how and when to start treating them. That is why it is essential that you talk to the doctor before the first laser treatment. Specific types of hairiness may be a sign of an undiagnosed disease such as endocrinopathy (impaired function of the endocrine glands), or may be an adverse drug reaction. Before the procedure, all skin lesions and birthmarks on the area to be treated should be examined and appropriately protected. If the doctor finds anything else that might be dangerous, they will perform a surgical resection with a histopathological examination.
Some instructions before the procedure
You shouldn’t expose yourself to sunlight four weeks before the anticipated laser hair removal as the skin should not be tanned. Use high-SPF sunscreens (at least SPF 30). Also, you shouldn’t pluck or wax the hair three weeks before the treatment and between procedures, but you may shave it.
Laser hair removal is highly effective and safe if is performed by professionals such as those of the SKIN dermatological centre. Most adverse effects are transitory and have no permenent consequences. At the SKIN centre, we use the strongest and safest lasers with the highest level of precision. Such lasers are also used by experts at the most prestigious clinics around the world, including Harley Street in London and Fifth Avenue in New York.

Be the best version of yourself
When the first wrinkles appear on the face we tend to look older, more tired, even sad. Ageing is a natural process. As the years go by, skin is becoming less elastic and more sensitive. It starts producing less oil, becomes dehydrated and consequently wrinkled. Wrinkles occur due to exposure to UV light, which destroys supportive skin tissues such as collagen and elastin, thus enhancing the ageing processes. In addition to sunbathing, smoking also intensifies wrinkles as it changes the blood supply in the skin and speeds up the ageing process. Finally, repetitive facial movements form small wrinkles under the skin, which gradually grow deeper and deeper.
Preventing and smoothing wrinkles is a complex procedure. You can do a lot just by quitting smoking and protecting yourself against the sun. At the SKIN centre, there are many procedures available that will help you prevent the wrinkles from forming and deepening. Usually, botulinum toxin or dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid are applied. Botulinum weakens specific facial muscles, while dermal fillers replace the lack of volume below the wrinkles, making them smoother and giving you back your youthful appearance. The effect is visible for several months.

Safe removal of blood vessels on the face or legs
A laser acts by making the tissue absorb laser light, which mostly converts into heat. When removing tiny blood vessels, the laser targets toxyhaemoglobin. Laser light selectively overheats the vascular wall and selectively destroys dilated blood vessels. The best method to remove tiny blood vessels on the face is by means of a PDL laser, which can be used to treat tiny blood vessels (telangiectasia), rosacea and senile angiomas. This method acts on the blood vessels up to the depth of approximately 1.5 mm. The Nd:YAG laser acts at the deepest level and is able to remove the most persistent blood vessels on the legs up to a depth of several millimetres.
At the SKIN centre, we trust the lasers made by the acknowledged American manufacturer Cynosure. Its research and innovations that ensure high effectiveness and safety put Cynosure among the top global manufacturers. We also use lasers that have been declared the most effective for blood vessel removal in many studies published in renowned medical journals. Because cooling is essential to reduce complications and relieve pain, we have specific additional cooling systems in place.
Laser removal of blood vessels is effective, safe and, for most patients, painless. A minor pain can be felt during therapy at the site of the laser action. Sometimes, the laser removal of the blood vessels must be repeated and the number of repetitions depends on several factors, but mostly on the size of the vessels. All the procedures are performed by a SKIN specialist dermatovenerologist. We will discuss the treatment with you thoroughly before the procedure.

Laser treatment is a new method to treat acne. It acts in two ways. First, it heats up the sebaceous glands in the skin, which makes them shrink and produce less sebum. Secondly, it works on acne, which develops due to the excessive growth of specific bacteria that get trapped in a hair follicle without oxygen, resulting in inflammation. A laser opens up the pores, so that oxygen, which kills the bacteria and stops the inflammation, can gain access.
Laser treatment of acne is usually painless, but may cause some discomfort. Only slight redness is present after the therapy, which subsides within a few hours to a few days. The effects can usually be seen after the second or third treatment. Laser treatment of acne at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid exposure to the sun or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).

The redness finally gone.
The redness and tiny blood vessels associated with rosacea respond well to laser treatment. This is the only therapy that reduces all the symptoms of rosacea. Creams or tablets only reduce inflammation, resulting in a smaller number of pustules and acne, but facial redness and tiny blood vessels usually persist.
At the SKIN centre, we take a comprehensive approach to the treatment of rosacea using lasers and the results have been outstanding. Most patients consider the procedure painless although a slight discomfort may be present and redness after the therapy is intensified. You can go back to work right the next day after the treatment. Laser treatment of rosacea at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid sun exposure or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).
Can rosacea be cured?
There is no medicine that could cure rosacea, but medicine and laser therapy can reduce the inconveniences related to rosacea.
Rosacea therapy?
The inconveniences related to rosacea differ from person to person, so you should have consultation with a dermatologist to discuss which treatment is the right treatment for you.
Laser treatment for rosacea?
For the therapy of rosacea we employ a capillary laser, which diminishes the redness and small capillaries on the face, and reduces the appearance of small bumps and pimples.
Rosacea laser therapy – what can I expect?
After a detailed discussion with the dermatologist, who will assess whether you are a suitable candidate for laser therapy, we will start with the therapy. First, we will clean the skin on the face and protect any skin spots. The laser therapy itself lasts for approximately 10 minutes. You will feel the blowing of cold air, cooling the skin’s surface. You will feel the laser therapy as a mild tingling sensation. The majority of people do not describe laser therapy as painful.
Rosacea laser therapy – what should we pay special attention to before the treatment?
Before the laser treatment you should avoid exposure to the sun and visiting solariums, as the skin should not be overly suntanned. We do not perform laser therapy iif yoy suffer from herpetic or other infections of the face or if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding.
How does laser therapy work?
To reduce rosacea and the thin capillaries on facial skin we use a capillary laser with a light wavelength, which can exert a specific effect on the thin veins under the skin. Since the laser beam raises the temperature in these veins, the veins close and reduce in size. At least four laser therapies are needed to reduce the thin blood vessels or the redness.

When the redness stops
For many people, excessive redness on the cheeks or face is aesthetically unpleasant. It often appears due to a skin condition called rosacea. Laser treatment works effectively on the redness. It is the only therapy that reduces facial redness as well as other symptoms of rosacea and the tiny blood vessels that are often present along the nose or on the cheeks.
At the SKIN centre, we take a comprehensive approach to the treatment of redness using lasers. The procedure is quick and you might feel a burning sensation at the site of the laser treatment. Usually, the redness is more intense for a few days following the procedure, but it subsides quickly and you can go back to work the next day after the treatment. Laser treatment of facial redness at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid sun exposure or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).
What causes rosacea?
While the exact cause of rosacea is not known, there are several theories about why it appears. We know that facial blood vessels in people suffering from rosacea spread quicker, which causes increased blood flow in the tiny facial veins near the skin’s surface, so the skin looks red. Later, bumps and tiny pimples appear. We also know that people with rosacea have more sensitive and drier skin and more often a different ratio of mites on the skin compared to people who do not suffer from rosacea.
Is rosacea contagious?
No. Some antibiotics are sometimes used to treat rosacea because of their anti-inflammatory properties and not because we would want them to act on particular bacteria.
Does rosacea worsen with age?
We cannot predict how rosacea will evolve because it is different with every individual, but we have noticed that in the majority of patients who are not treated, the condition gradually worsens.
How long will you suffer from rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic disease, which is characterized by improvement and aggravation stages. There are no medicines to cure it, but there are medications or laser therapy available, which will mitigate the condition.
Is rosacea accompanied by a burning feeling on the skin, frequent blushing and itching of the face?
This may occur. However, these problems themselves do not indicate that you have rosacea. You should first let yourself be examined by a dermatologist, who will make a diagnosis and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Do people with rosacea frequently have dry skin?
It has been found that approximately half of the patients with rosacea have dry skin. Your dermatologist will recommend you the creams that you should use if you suffer from rosacea.
I have been taking pills for the treatment of rosacea for some time and I have noticed that I have less bumps and smaller pimples, but the tiny veins on the face are more visible.
The medications used to treat rosacea have an anti-inflammatory effect, so they reduce the appearance of bumps and little pimples. They also slightly reduce the redness of the face, so the tiny veins are more clearly visible. The blood vessels on the face are removed by using a capillary laser.
What aggravates the problems with rosacea?
Rosacea is aggravated with sun exposure, stress, hot or cold weather, wind, alcohol, spicy food and certain cosmetic products. Your dermatologist will give you advice on which creams you should use and which products you should avoid.

Counteract the congenital flaws
One of the first laser-treated diseases was port wine stain, a congenital vascular malformation that manifests as a red mark on the face or trunk. It is caused by capillary malformations and appears in up to 0.5 per cent of newborns. The surface area of vascular birthmarks increases with age as it is gradually becoming thicker and darker.
It can only be treated using a laser. If treated in childhood, the recovery can be complete. The success of the treatment depends on the size of the change and its location on the body. For most patients, the procedure is painless and only minor discomfort is present. Several treatments performed by a SKIN dermatovenerologist are always needed. Before the first procedure, we will have a thorough discussion related to the treatment. The laser treatment of congenital vascular malformations at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid exposure to the sun or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).

In non-surgical treatment, laser removal of the visible smaller blood vessels in the legs plays an important role (link to dilated blood vessels in the legs). With this method, precise and focused laser energy is converted into heat within the blood vessel, which damages the vascular wall and finally blocks the blood vessel. The blood vessel or vascular plexus is no longer visible. The laser acts on the blood vessels across the skin and does not damage the skin, so there is no bleeding or open wounds after the procedure.
The method used at the SKIN centre is unique in the laser world. We use simultaneous treatment with two lasers, which enables higher laser penetration and treatment of blood vessels at different skin levels simultaneously. An effective cooling system is in place, so the procedure is painless for most patients. You might feel a slight burning sensation at the site of the laser action.
Laser removal of blood vessels in the legs is quick. Blood vessels become darker after the procedure and disappear within a few months. If they don’t disappear after a single procedure, the treatment is repeated after a few months. You can go back to work immediately after the treatment. We ensure you that laser treatment of blood vessels in the legs at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid the sun or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).

A quick and effective way to deal with them
Pigmentation irregularities usually occur due to exposure to the sun, after injuries to the skin or inflammation and make our face look older. Changes can also be seen in the cleavage and on the hands. Although they are benign and superficial, they cannot be eliminated without proper medical equipment.
Specialists at the SKIN centre only use reliable and certified equipment to remove freckles and pigmentation, so the risk for adverse effects is significantly reduced. The procedure is quick and you might only feel a slight burning sensation at the point of the laser beam. At first, the spots become darker and eventually become lighter or disappear. Laser treatment of freckles and pigment spots at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid the sun or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).
PRICE LIST:
- Laser removal of pigment spots on the hands – EUR 100

Mini facelift effect
As we get older, facial skin is no longer radiant. First, fine lines appear to be followed by furrows later. Unpleasant vascular malformations and pigmentation irregularities might also occur on your face, but rejuvenation with a laser can improve these unwanted changes at several levels. Your face will look fresh and your skin will be firmer.
Using a laser, a so-called mini facelift procedure is performed. This is one of the most popular aesthetic procedures, which improves the firmness of facial skin. Laser beams penetrate upper skin layers without causing damage and stimulate the collagen fibres and fibroblasts to produce increased quantities of new collagen. In the following months your skin will be firmer, will look fresh, and fine lines might disappear.
This is how specialists at the SKIN centre achieve great results without causing skin irritation. If it’s more convenient for you, laser treatment can also be performed on workdays as no unwanted redness or swelling are expected.Yu can be assured that laser rejuvenation at the SKIN centre is safe and effective. After the procedure, you should avoid the sun or use an appropriate sunscreen (SPF 30+).

They disappear faster than you could imagine
Warts are benign growths caused by an infection of the superficial skin layers with human papillomavirus. They grow together with tiny blood vessels in the skin, which supply nutrients to the new tissue. When these tiny capillaries are eliminated with a laser, the warts stop growing and slowly disappear.
Specialists at the SKIN centre ensure that the warts are eliminated safely and quickly. Note that this procedure is a little painful. After 24 hours, the wart will darken and begin to shrink. If the first removal is not completely successful, treatment is repeated after two to three weeks.
PRICE LIST:
- Laser removal of a wart– EUR 20
- Laser removal of more than 5 warts – EUR 15/each

Actinic keratosis is a precancerous skin condition which can lead to skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. Actinic keratoses develop on the skin that has been badly damaged due to excessive exposure to the sun or solarium. With ageing, they are more and more frequent.
Persons with several actinic keratoses must see a dermatologist as keratoses can be treated before skin cancer develops. If skin cancer develops, the dermatologist will diagnose it rapidly during regular check-ups. If treated at an early stage, the success of complete removal is much better that in the later stages.
At the SKIN centre, we are able to diagnose different types of skin cancer and advise you on the steps you should take next.

The technology that leaves nothing undetected
In the June edition of the ELLE magazine, the SKIN dermatologist, Ms Katja Gorenšek, M.D., talked about the examination of skin spots and skin cancer prevention. You can read her advice here.
It is advisable to carefully observe pigment spots on the body. In this way, skin cancer, particularly melanoma, can be diagnosed early. Digital dermatoscopy is an intelligent method for monitoring individuals at high risk. If melanoma is diagnosed early, the likelihood of successful treatment increases significantly.
Birthmarks are stable and usually don’t grow or change. On the other hand, a melanoma eventually changes and grows. A method for the early detection of melanoma was developed several years ago. It is called digital dermatoscopy and is performed in two steps. The first step includes total body photography or total body mapping. The second step is digital dermatoscopic imaging of each birthmark as determined by a dermatologist.
First, the skin on the whole body is photographed (mapped). This includes systematic examination and recording of all the birthmarks from head to toe. At the first examination, basic imaging of the skin on the entire body is performed, which enables future comparison and new or changing lesions can be detected in future examinations. In the second phase, digital dermatoscopy is performed, which enables high resolution imaging of the birthmarks. This is the most sensitive method for an early detection of melanoma and enables early detection of melanoma even when no specific criteria are present and when prognosis is relatively good.
A dermatoscopic camera is used to photograph each mark that the dermatologist had decided to monitor. At the next check-up, the dermatologist will display the birthmarks and compare them. The doctor will then determine whether any small changes have developed since the last examination that could, for example, point to rosacea, even if they lack indications for melanoma according to the ABCDE criteria or the standard dermatoscopic measures. The instrument itself analyses photos and points to any new birthmarks and changes in the existing ones. In this way, melanoma can be detected earlier compared to the examination of birthmarks and dermatoscopy alone.
Monitoring with digital dermatoscopy can be short-term or long-term. If it is short-term, we monitor a single birthmark that is of concern to the patient, but shows no melanoma signs when examined by a dermatologist. Long-term monitoring is performed in persons with a large number of birthmarks or persons with a personal or family history of melanoma.
Digital dermatoscopy is painless and systematic and in the hands of a SKIN centre specialist it really is the best method to analyse the state of skin marks.
At the SKIN centre we use an advanced imaging system called FotoFinder, which provides fast and complete mapping of the total body and of each birthmark. It is of the utmost importance that experienced SKIN specialists know how to use the technology, which is by itself able to analyse birthmark changes and detect new ones. It is the best method to monitor the skin with many birthmarks.
We carry out single examinations of skin spots also by using classic dermatoscopy.

Don’t wait
Early detection of skin cancer is essential. If detected early enough, skin cancer can be cured. The most important risk factors for the development of skin cancer are excessive exposure to sun and a family history of skin cancer.
At the SKIN centre, we use state-of-the-art medical technology to monitor changes to your skin. This allows us to detect skin cancer at an early stage when curability is high.
Advanced and painless examination of your birthmarks
We advise you to have your birthmarks examined when you see that a particular birthmark has changed, that a new one has appeared or if you have many birthmarks. We monitor them in order to distinguish between benign and atypical birthmarks and to detect melanoma at an early stage of the disease when treatment is highly successful. This is performed by means of dermatoscopy, an advanced method that has significantly contributed to the diagnostics and early detection of changes.
Birthmarks are first examined with the naked eye and then with a dermatoscope, which displays the changes magnified up to 40 times. It also allows us to observe the lower layers of the epidermis and the dermoepidermal border. By means of dermatoscopy, the early stages of the melanoma and other forms of dangerous skin growths are detected much quicker.
Dermatoscopic imaging with a high-resolution camera is called digital dermatoscopy.
At the SKIN centre, we pay special attention to an early detection of skin tumours. With our advanced expertise and state-of-the-art technology, we can provide careful monitoring that prevents an unnecessary resection of the birthmarks. Dermatoscopy can assist in deciding on what to do next.

The right combination of expertise and tools
The rejuvenation process is aimed at preserving or achieving a youthful facial look. It can be either surgical or non-surgical. There are several surgical methods and their combination brings the best results. For example, your face can be rejuvenated by applying botulinum toxin, chemical peels or dermal fillers or by laser rejuvenation therapies and laser removal of unpleasant pigmentation and vascular malformations.
Together, we will prepare an individualised plan using the best combination of methods to achieve the desired effect.
PRICE LIST:

An individualised and comprehensive approach
Irritating changes on the skin surface which make your face look older may be eliminated in various ways. Therefore, the specialists at the SKIN centre always design an individualised and comprehensive plan for a youthful appearance.
First, we analyse your facial skin thoroughly and instruct you on the best cosmetics you can use to improve the quality and appearance of the skin. Then, we decide which therapy will work best to give you back your youthful look.
We use medical peels to make your skin radiant. Laser treatment is used to eliminate other signs of fatigue and ageing, such as vascular malformations or overly visible and dilated blood vessels, excessive facial redness and specific pigment disorders. We can also remove the unwanted hair and unpleasant skin growths on the face.
Minor wrinkles can be eliminated using botulinum toxin. Dermal fillers, usually based on hyaluronic acid, also have a major impact. Due to ageing, oxidants, pollution and UV irradiation, our body loses its ability to produce hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers give your face back its volume and smooth the deeper wrinkles. The fillers also bind to collagen and elastin, giving the skin its firmness, elasticity and volume.
At the SKIN centre we make sure that we first have a discussion and analyse your wishes and expectations in order to improve your skin appearance, so that you can retrieve a youthful look. We strongly believe that an individualised approach is needed when planning aesthetic procedures.

LET YOUR FACE relax
Would you like to have your wrinkles on the forehead removed? How about having those wrinkles around the eyes removed?
There are more than 20 muscles in the face of which many control our facial mimic. Their long-term daily contraction causes numerous tiny wrinkles on the skin of the face, characteristic of each individual muscle. When wrinkles appear on the face, we look older, more tired and sometimes even sad.
Before you begin with any treatment, a dermavenerologist will talk to you and advise you about what would be the most appropriate therapy for your fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. The tiny wrinkles can become smaller with appropriate treatment as we smooth the facial lines, which are too strong (hyper-functional), and which change the shape of the face and neck and cause an older, and less attractive appearance. With an appropriate treatment those muscles which contribute to the appearance of wrinkles most, can relax, so that your face will look fresher.
At the SKIN centre, we take the time to discuss your wishes and expectations to set the goal together. In the procedure we use a tiny needle, so it is almost painless and quick, and the administration sites are invisibly accentuated. The results are visible within a few days and the effect lasts from three to six months. If you continue with the treatment, the effect wil be even more pronounced.
PRICE LIST: Botulinum toxin
- Around the eyes – EUR 155
- Between the eyebrows – EUR 140
- Forehead – EUR 215
Less distinct tiny wrinkles, A MORE YOUTHFUL appearance
Dermal fillers
People are aware of the aging process and most would like to slow it down. It is recommended that women begin having aesthetic treatment around the age of 30. To keep a youthful appearance and have the wrinkles reduced we recommend fillers to restore volume in places where it diminishes through the natural process of aging. In modern aesthetic medicine dermal fillers are applied in precisely selected areas of the face taking into consideration the individual characteristics of the face. Small quantities of hyaluronic acid are used to smooth the wrinkles, resulting in a younger, healthy and fresh look. At SKIN dermatology we use the most advanced rejuvenation techniques as we not only wish to reduce wrinkles, but make you look younger while preserving the individual facial features without an exaggerated and unnatural appearance. With regular procedures, you can maintain a happy and glowing appearance.
Faces of Slovenian women are often of a round shape with a chin that is too short. Dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid solve this problem as they can extend the chin, creating a nicer oval shape of the face. We can also make the cheekbones more pronounced, reduce dark circles under the eyes, optically narrow the nose and raise your eyebrows. In this way, we also resurface wrinkles.
At the SKIN center we take the time to discuss your wishes and expectations, so that we can set the goal together. We use several methods of injecting dermal fillers into hypodermis or dermis, always adjusting them to your face. The application is quick, but the effect can be seen immediately.
PRICE LIST:
- Dermal filler with hyaluronic acid for superficial (shallow) wrinkles – superficial wrinkles around the lips, shallow wrinkles on the cheeks and chin – EUR 320
- Dermal filler with hyaluronic acid for replacing cheek volume, deeper wrinkles, volume above the temples, nasolabial wrinkles (1 ml) – EUR 320
an advanced approach for more beautiful lips
AN ADVANCED approach FOR MORE BEAUTIFUL LIPS
By administering hyaluronic acid-based filler the natural beauty of your lips come to life. We use this treatment in younger people when the clear line between the lips and the surrounding skin area disappears and the lips lose their shine. In older persons, this procedure is performed when the loss of volume leads to what looks like an almost complete disappearance of the lips.
Lip augmentation is performed by applying dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid into the edge of the lips or into the centre of the lips, depending on the lip shape of the individual. The lip augmentation procedure takes about 30 minutes.
At the SKIN centre we always take the time to discuss your wishes and expectations, so that we can set the goals together. The administration is quick and safe and, while the effect is readily visible, it becomes even more pronounced within the next few days. The specialists at the SKIN centre use certified fillers only.
Everyone who comes to SKIN dermatology for an aesthetic consultation for the first time receives an analysis of the complete face. Together we discuss which parts you are not happy with and which features we can improve. At the same time the dermatologist will also explain beauty standards and give recommendations on how you can approach them. We often experience that patients would like to have larger lips only to find that what they would need is in fact the shaping of their chin or a reduction of the fine lines around their lips. In this way, patients can postpone a lip procedure.
For shaping the lips, we like to use dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid is otherwise a natural composite substance of the skin.

- Dermal filler with hyaluronic acid for lip-shaping (0.55 ml) – EUR 320

Uncover the beauty of your skin
Superficial peels are an effective way to improve skin appearance. After the procedure, the skin is more radiant and fresh, acne improves and the superficial, harmless solar lentigo fades away. Peels are used to treat skin thickening, and sometimes melasma.
Natural alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) at gradually increasing concentrations are most frequently used for superficial peels. Depending on the skin condition, peels with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and salicylic acid may be used.
During the procedure, you may feel a slight burning sensation in the treated area. After the peel, the skin will be a little redder, but it will restore itself within a few days. You can go back to work as soon as the next day. For best results, peels should be repeated a few times.
Superficial peels are a great way to resurface and rejuvenate skin. However, superficial peels do not give the same results as medium peels. With medium peels, the substances penetrate into deeper skin layers and restore them. Therefore, specialists at the SKIN centre are always available to discuss your wishes and expectations and to give you suggestions on the best method that will bring you a youthful look.
PRICE LIST:
- Superficial peel – EUR 80
Completely reinvigorated complexion
Medium peels bring highly visible results. They significantly improve the skin changes caused by photoageing, smooth fine lines and acne scars, as well as improve epidermal lesions such as actinic keratotic lesions and atrophic skin with tiny wrinkles.
This is a slightly more complex and more painful procedure during which the SKIN specialist causes controlled damage to the epidermis and papillary dermis, mostly by using a combination of two substances. You will be thoroughly prepared for the procedure. During the days following the procedure, the upper skin layers are first damaged and then regenerated, which takes about 14 days. You should plan to be absent from work for at least a week. After three months, new collagen is synthesised, which visibly and distinctly improves the quality and firmness of the new skin surface.
Clearly healthy-looking skin
A chemical peel may improve the quality and surface of the skin by stimulating the exfoliation of old, sun-damaged cells. It also helps relieve the appearance of fine lines. The resurfaced skin is softer and its texture is improved.
Medical peels are performed by a qualified doctor in a controlled environment. There are several types of medical peels. Usually, we use peels with fruit acids such as glycolic acid. The depth of the peel depends on the concentration of the acid. Superficial peels are an excellent solution for those with a busy lifestyle. The procedure itself doesn’t take long and the recovery is fast, so you can go back to work as soon as the next day. In the next few days, the skin sheds, which may be alleviated by proper skin care.
The specialists at the SKIN centre are always there to discuss your wishes and expectations and to suggest the best peel depending on the condition of your skin.
PRICE LIST:
- Peel with fruit acids – EUR 80
Let them be examined by a specialist
Potentially malignant skin growths may be removed only with surgical resection followed by a histological examination. A histological examination is performed under a microscope by a pathohistologist, who will examine the skin lesion and determine its nature.
On the other hand, benign growths may be aesthetically or functionally unpleasant. At the SKIN centre, we remove them using the radiofrequency method, which helps to achieve the best aesthetic results possible. A rapidly alternating electric current provides local heating to the tissue, giving the doctor a high level of selectivity, control and precision. It is the best method for minor procedures with minimal side effects. The procedure is painless, quick and usually does not need to be repeated.
We employ various techniques to perform:
- Removal of skin spots – Some people find many skin spots quite unpleasant, so they decide to have them removed, especially the spots on the face, and the ones protruding above the skin surface. Sometimes skin spots are in such places of the body that they are irritating; for instance, when shaving, or if they rub against the underwear. In this way, the removal of a skin spot may for some people also mean the removal of the protuberance which irritates them.
- Removal of the soft fibroma – they are stem-like skin changes in skin colour and appearance; in most cases they are found in the area of the neck and armpits. Their removal is quick.
- Removal of old age warts – seborrheic keratosis – they refer to skin changes which begin to appear after the age of 30, in most cases on the body, but also elsewhere.
PRICE LIST:
- Radiofrequency removal (non-surgical) of birthmarks, age warts and other types of warts:
- face EUR 70,
- torso EUR 50
- Removal of soft fibromas (tiny growths in the armpits and on the neck):
- for one EUR 15 ,
- for five EUR 60,
- for ten fibromas EUR 100
- Surgical resection of a birthmark:
- trunk and extremities EUR 250,
- face EUR 350
- Histological examination of the resected birthmark:
- minor EUR 60,
- medium EUR 75,
- major EUR 90

The whole day without worries
Sweating causes a lot of discomfort to many people. It may also be the first sign of a disease or just an unwanted side effect of some medications.
When sweating is excessive
Some people suffer from excessive sweating every day, which manifests itself in wet sweat stains on a shirt. This condition is referred to as primary axial hyperhidrosis when the body produces more sweat than is needed for the regulation of body temperature. Excessive sweating is categorised according to how it affects our everyday life and activities.
Sweating is good. Most of the time…
Sweating is a normal response of the organism to heat since sweat secretion regulates body temperature, or to put it differently; the body cools itself by sweating. The fact is that there are between 2 and 4 million sweat glands on our body.
When the sweating is “normal”
It is difficult to talk about what normal sweating is because some people sweat more than others and we cannot compare ourselves to other people. If how much you sweat bothers you, it may be time to talk with the dermatologist, who will recommend the most convenient therapy to reduce excessive sweating.
Are antiperspirants and deodorants sufficient?
Not always. However, these are the first products which most people who suffer from hyperhidrosis try. These products block sweat glands and reduce the quantity of sweat coming on the skin. In addition, deodorants control the unpleasant smell caused by sweating. If these products are not effective enough for you, it might be time to ask your dermatologist about other options to deal with hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating therapy.
What does hyperhidrosis therapy look like?
After a consultation with the dermatologist, the doctor will assess if there are any health issues and then recommend the best treatment for you. In most cases, treatment is performed by inserting the medicine with a small needle into the armpit area with 10 to 15 small stitches, which will reduce the functioning of the sweat gland. The medicine reduces the innervation of the sweat glands thereby reducing their activity.
How quickly can I notice the effects? How long will the effects last?
The effect is noticeable after 2 to 4 weeks. Sweating is reduced for 6 to 8 months.
What is hyperhidrosis therapy at the SKIN center?
At the SKIN center, we will first discuss the problem thoroughly, then we will provide you with a diagnosis or refer you to see another. If sweating is only an inconvenience without any pathological risks, we can offer you the most effective treatment. We apply the medicine into the area where sweating is most intense, which is most often under the armpits.
In order to achieve the best result using the least number of doses we at the SKIN centre will first perform a test. Based on the test results, we will then define the areas where sweating is most pronounced. The test is quick and sensitive. The application procedure itself is almost painless, quick and with rare side effects.

- Armpits – EUR 400
