What irritates the skin?
It is always good to discuss allergy testing with a doctor as only doctors can assess the type of allergy you might be suffering from, recommend suitable testing and use their expertise to evaluate the results. Different types of allergic reactions require very different methods of testing such as a skin prick test, a blood test for sensitivity to specific allergens or epicutaneous testing.
Skin diseases for which allergy testing is performed include urticaria, atopic dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis caused by contact with a particular cosmetic product, leather or metallic items such as a watch or earrings.
At the SKIN centre, we will make sure that we talk to you about your skin problems in detail to then be able to choose between several types of tests for a range of allergies.
